Staff Pick: The under-$25 Loire white that’s outdrinking $50 burgundies
Every season there’s one bottle on the shelf that quietly converts everyone who tries it. This summer it’s a Sauvignon Blanc from a tiny domaine in Touraine, a sub-region of the Loire Valley most people overlook in favor of Sancerre.
Why it’s special
Old-vine Sauvignon planted on flint and clay, naturally fermented, no oak, bottled with minimal sulfur. The result is everything we love about cool-climate whites — laser-cut acidity, gunflint, lime zest, white peach, and a finish that goes on forever.

What to drink it with
- Goat cheese — the classic Loire pairing for a reason
- Grilled white fish or shellfish
- A summer salad with citrus vinaigrette
- Honestly, just a porch and a sunset
The Ryan verdict
“It’s the bottle I’ve been bringing to dinner parties all month. Every time, someone asks me what it is. That’s the highest compliment I can give a $23 wine.”
We have a few cases in stock at all four locations. Ask for the Touraine SB by name — or just ask for “Ryan’s pick.”
